Retrofit of 4 traction substations in Beltsy (Moldova)
Pluton completed the project on modernization (retrofit) of four traction substations for Beltsy (Moldova) city electric transport power supply network in December 2014.
The contract for execution of this project Pluton won in competitive bidding conducted according to the rules and under supervision of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Equipment sets for retrofit are designed by Pluton engineer units and manufactured on its own production base. Local subcontractor was involved for dismantling and installation works. Delivery package included 12 rectifiers and equipment for of retrofit 33 switchgear 600 V, including DC high speed circuit breakers.
Within the framework of modernization project Pluton specialists fulfilled engineering, dismantling, installation and commissioning works, as well as putting modernized equipment in operation.
So far, Pluton has developed and implemented various technical solutions for modernization of city electric transport traction substations being in operation. Pluton also gained practical experience in modernization of traction substations, including works without removing substations from operation.
Proposed solutions for modernization of traction substations allow to extend lifetime of equipment, enhance reliability of power supply, ensure up-to-date level of remote control and diagnostics. Additional advantage of modernization is reduction of operation costs and improvement of equipment maintenance safety by operational personnel.
