Retrofit of switchgears 6..10 kV

Modernization of medium voltage cubicles 6 (10) kV involves replacement of outdated oil circuit breakers by means of universal module installation with modern vacuum circuit breaker Evolis type.

Module structure:

• withdrawable (fixed) vacuum circuit breaker Evolis;
• earthing disconnector with control unit;
• current transformers;
• voltage transformers;
• vacuum circuit breaker Evolis control system.

Structurally universal module is installed on supporting frame. Module delivery set includes transitional busbars and other structural elements, which provide module adaptation to the place of its installation.

Special service trolley is used for convenient circuit breaker Evolis withdrawal from the module.

Circuit breakers Evolis are applied as switching device for distribution and industrial circuits protection and control.

Main characteristics:

• rated voltage 6 and 10 kV;
• operating voltage 7,2 kV and 12 kV;
• short-circuit breaking capacity up to 31,5 kA;
• rated current: from 630 A up to 2500 A;
• withdrawable, fixed design.

Special configuration of operating contacts in circuit breaker vacuum chambers and axial magnetic field during arc breaking provide arc breaking softness which is maximum possible in this circuit breaker type even at high current values. External coil around contact area generates electromagnetic field.

This technical solution has a lot of benefits:

• simplification and thereby increasing of vacuum chamber reliability;
• no deformation of high-power contacts at closing and opening.

In addition, circuit breaker Evolis meets the highest requirements to mechanical wear resistance (IEC 62271-100: class М2).

• three capacitive voltage dividers, built into base insulators, connected with voltage indicator. This indicator is installed in cubicle front part and indicates voltage presence at input.
